There Are No Postmodernists In Driftboats (Was Not Was Re: Book Description)

Or some couch it in pedantic, passive-agressive and
ironically unreflexive prose ...

Which is why I'm curious as to why Robt. in particular
is so quick to dismiss that description as authentic,
esp. asauthetically Pynchonian. It's perfectly suited
to his (Robt.'s, that is) brand of selective
literalism (that's a "t," not a "b" there) ...

But, again ...

"With a worldwide disaster looming just a few years
ahead, it is a time of unrestrained corporate greed,
false religiosity, moronic fecklessness, and evil
intent in high places. No reference to the present day
is intended or should be inferred."

Hm. There's perhaps a fine line between "plausible
deniability" and "tongue-in-cheek." And perhaps that
line is a sense of humor, and/or at least irony ...

But I'm still curious, Keith, Robt., whoever, just
what DO y'all think these books are about? "Those who
Know, Know," yes, I know (if not Know), but ...

Curious, is all ...

There's also an essay and/or dissertation out there to
be written on the art of implication without
demonstration ...
