Lit Theory

Interesting article!

I have a rather off-topic question, though it does have to deal with
lit theory and English professors... I'm at a point where I'm
considering grad school, but I've been told the chances of becoming an
English professor are about nil - and to become an English professor
in the city of your choice is all but impossible. I'm almost thinking
about doing Sociology instead, which does interest me quite a bit and
I've heard that the job market is more open (I am in the US, for the
record). Can anyone here comment on this? I don't know what you all
do but I'm sure there's someone who might be able to give me some
insight.
