ZWERM, Flemish Lit

Not long ago there was a post about the Flemish writer Paul Verhaeghen whose 
complex novel "Omega Minor" has been compared to Pynchon's oeuvre. Its 
translation is forthcoming in Dalkey Archive in a year or so. Now, it seems 
I stumbled upon another monster of a novel by another Flemish author Peter 
Verhelst. It is called "Zwerm" (Swarm?). I can see several references to 
Pynchon in the review, but I can hardly understand anything else. I know 
that there people on the P-list, who understand Flemish/Dutch. If you have 
read the novel, or understand what's written in the review, could you just 
give me some info on this novel. Is there something truly exciting going on 
in Flemish lit., or is it just TRP's name used and abused as the 
advantageous object of comparison?
