As Gravity's Rainbow had seemed too decidedly odd, Against the Day
struck me as a tiny bit bland.

I like the sound and sense of it, but it's maybe too suggestive of
other familiar titles.

Days of Our Lives

Remains of the Day

Day in the Life

Didn't like The Great Gatsby (the title). Sounded too much like a
stage magician, hypnotist, acrobat, etc.

Under the Red, White, and Blue would have been too boisterous.
