The color I think of is the green light at the end of the pier.

But yes, under the  red, white, and blue, in the land of the free and  
the home of the brave, where everything is  free if you're brave  
enough . . .

By the way,  most of these folks including their author were  from  
the Upper Midwest (old northwest) transplanted by the fatal siren  
call of the East and that green light at the end  of the  pier.
