- Haley Joel Osment suffered a fractured a rib and
hurt his shoulder in an L.A.-area car crash early
Thursday. The actor was in good condition and expected
to make a complete recovery, said Dr. Paul Gilbert, an
orthopedic surgeon at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena,
Calif.

- Actor Daniel Baldwin was hurt after he drove a Ford
Thunderbird at more than 80 m.p.h. through L.A.
traffic and crashed into two parked cars, police said.
He was questioned after the crash Wednesday and
examined at a hospital, Officer Martha Garcia said
Thursday.

- Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst is getting married,
People.com reports. "I have met a wonderful girl named
Krista from Rhode Island and have asked her to marry
me," Durst, 35, wrote on his MySpace.com page. He's
currently directing his first film, "The Education of
Charlie Banks," in Providence, R.I., where he met
Krista Salvatore, 21.

- Thomas Pynchon's first novel in nearly a decade is
coming out in December. "Against the Day" will be
published by Penguin Press and run at least 900 pages.
The very private author will not do a promotional
tour. "That will not be happening, no," Penguin
publicist Tracy Locke said Thursday.
