And, he has been a professional blurb-writer for over (?) 40 years now, 
so I guess there's some logic to TRP finally doing the deed on one of 
his own books. I think it's offered in that same self-conscious, 
contextually ironic vein as the Simpsons appearances. Blank parody. 
Coyly informative and coyly reticent both. Banal and slightly pompous. 
A nice double-edged quip there in the middle, respectful fare-thee-well 
to close.

I agree there's also a definite sense that the title is announcing this 
one as his final (and fourth) magnum opus, though I hope there'll still 
be some shorter stuff left in the ol' guy yet.

992 pages. Should be good. Can't wait.
