Certainly all the above.  Joyce gave what -- eight? -- various meanings to 
Finnegans Wake.  I don't think an author -- certainly not this author -- would 
choose a suggestive, ambiguous title without considering and embracing the 
suggestions and ambiguities.  Against contains again and gain; day vs. night, the 
vs. a ... what day?  The day.  Etc.
