his Master's voice

Well, they keep us pretty well compartmented for
security purposes, on a need-to-know basis, as I'm
sure you can understand. I don't actually get to help
write the bylined novels, some other, more senior
people handle that. Most recently, I worked with a
small team on the assignment to hack into the
Amazon.com web site, post a Book Description over
Thomas Pynchon's name, then came the really fun part
as we had to back-track, in real-time, and leak
conflicting information to make it look as if it was
just a mistake or maybe a hacker plot (as jbor
astutely observed) by a rogue element out to defame
the Master, thus generating broader interest in the
Book Description for the new novel when it was finally
publicly announced as Pynchon's text and published
again at Amazon.com.

And, yes, obsessed fiend that I am, I did it all ONLY
because I want to make life miserable for my
arch-rival, jbor, by making him appear a fool in the
forum where he makes such an effort to appear
knowledgable and in charge, as Mr. Ghetta Life
correctly notes, the only thing that interests me in
this world, this veil of sorrow, is a single-minded,
tunnel-vision'd pursuit of jbor, Pynchon-l's resident
"authority". Thus, you can imagine my current
emotions of pride at our ability to actually move
public opinion and manipulate unsuspecting online
journalists in the process, mingled with chagrin as I
contemplate the potential consequences and
ramifications of revealing my involvement in this
masterful conspiracy.

I wish I could say I'm the guy who thought up the
Against the Day title, but that was Lou, a part-time
Pynchon blogger over in Redbank, New Jersey.
The general feeling is, Lou nailed it.
