The Sirens of Titan is also great fun comic sci fi. Those three are 
about the best of the early Vonnegut.

Player Piano, his first, has some really interesting ideas for its time 
but is a bit ponderous and it's a different style of novel altogether. 
It's not a representative introduction to the works of his which 
followed.
