shameless self-promotion

I'm not even going to pretend that this is anything other than horn
self-tooting:

My book, entitled _The Anxiety of Obsolescence: The American Novel
in the Age of Television_, has just been released. (At least
according to Amazon, who have switched their listing from "this book
has not yet been released" to "usually ships within 4 to 6 weeks."
It's possible that this means that the book is still, technically,
forthcoming, but whatever.) Mostly it focuses on Pynchon and
DeLillo, with a concluding section on DFW, and Franzen floating
around its edges.

There's more info, as well as excerpts (the introduction, the first
chapter, and the introductory section of each subsequent chapter --
as well as the bibliography and index, if you're into that kind of
thing) on the book's website: http://www.anxietyofobsolescence.com.
The site is open for comments, and I'd love to hear from you guys
about it, if you're of a mind.
