delillo's seductive to many while one is under the direct influence of a 
read... he's intoxicating.  But the aftertaste is often bitter and 
artificial, like a fake sweetener.

his best books are perhaps AMERICANA and LIBRA.  UNDERWORLD, though 
ambitious and spectral/prismatic, is OVERRATED.

that and 50 cents'll get you on the new york city subway.
