hmmm, "we" includes the Germans, doesn't it? Or is "we" just the p-list members from the Coalition of the Willing (adding subtextual Mad Magazine ejaculations: blecch, sheesh, Potrzebie)

the uncaring about history under discussion was that of kids, but rampant historical ignorance is at least as great in the USA and probably extends higher into the government here - only my Dad and a WWII vet at the recycling center, of all the people I've broached the topic of Prescott Bush with, knew anything about that great historical personage, for instance; and I only heard of our greatest military hero, Smedley Butler, within the last couple of years myself
