Vineland / didn't mean to harsh on GR or V

in particular the phrase

doesn't really do justice to GR and V; and there's plenty of stuff in
both those books to delight in, including those sex and violence
scenes...

...likewise, there is a lot of sex/love discomfort in Vineland, but it
takes place in a more bearable way...
and you feel like there might be some hope somewhere in the universe...

In doper's terms,
GR might be windowpane; V benzedrine; Lot 49 the white mescaline; and
Vineland just the right amount of X   M&D seems to have a sort of a
hemp vibe to it...
