hope all is proceeding apace
if it doesn't hurt to remember, I was wondering how the other guy
fared, whether your car was a total loss (probably, from the sound of
it), whether you had anything in the trunk that you'll miss (hope not)
and what the road is like at 4am there -- is it like the roads
described in Vineland, with the patches of fog?

why Hebrew?  It's an attractive language, granted, but I'm more drawn
to the curvaceous squiggles of Arabic, or better, Sanskrit
