David & Henry et al.,
Yes, I really am a tech writer, but I also double as a marketing writer so
on the days I'm doing the salesy stuff I write pink. Such is today. My
assignment is to write a persuasive sales letter touting the benefits of
individual (expensive) disability insurance to various niche markets on which some
other contractor has done the "research". And today's market is SOFTWARE
ENGINEERS!
I really didn't need to read her research... I kind of know the field.
In my non-remote assignments I am usually embedded with the IT team, much
like being embedded in the military if you're a journalist--you get to learn
the particulars of their wars, as well as suffer many of their discomforts.
And when it's a really good gig you sometimes get to swim in the Sheik's pool.
With nerds.
So who else lurking out there makes his/her living this way? Surely David &
Henry & I are not the only ones... What does Glenn do? And there's no way
that Joe Allonby is the only one of us who has a band (yes, I have a band,
sort of)...
