The Signal
Dear Sirs,

 I said I would write a praise. Doctor Ranbir Singh said, 
"send it to The Signal." Hence....

Dear Sirs,

 Let me be blunt: You saved my life, nearly poured out
on Highway 14 by a speeding, sleeping driver. And I realized
you have done this for many before me, causing so many helpers
to help, and will do this for many after me.

 But what excites me to write is the "Pyxis Patient Station"
bringing web and e-mail access to a pendant flat touch screen, easy
to use from bed.

 Besides browsing for inspirational and medical texts, I
established e-mail contact with family, coworkers, and familiar
forums to narrate and cathect my status and feelings: both the
low, when I wished I had died; and the high, when I could state
the hand of the Lord influenced the event for my weal.

 This was far more healing than to dwell on only body and
pain.
