I think a lot of people came up with the Fauxhawk at the same time.  My
girlfriend and i thought we coined it a few years back, but we have heard
others saying it too.  It is actually even in a video game (Tony Hawk's
Underground 2, to be specific, has a fauxhawk haircut you can give a
character...oh god, i'm such a dork for even remembering that).  I do wonder
when it is first used in print.
