I will admit to hving paid $125 for a 1st ed. of The
Crying of Lot 49 (clothbound, with dustjacket and
everything) in decent condition ca. 1990 (I've since
seen 'em going for $600 or so, so ...).  But, for
better or worse, I'd just received an inheritance, so
...

Bookfinder --> http://www.bookfinder.com/ has listings
for 1st ed. HC GRs running from ca. $450 to  ca.
$45,000 (those latter ones allegedly being signed by
the author), so ...
