Using the term "The Government" as if it were a personality with coherent
intentions is paranoid to begin with. There is no single entity that can be
addressed as such. "The Government" is an multitudinous and protean thing.
"It" changes with the office holders' goals and political capital.
Sometimes it is locked into stalemate with itself, and othertimes it is an
unstoppable steamroller. Trying to validate or incriminate a person or
movement based on the (re)actions of "The Government" is falcious in the
extreme. "The Government" is often idiotic and incoherent.
