Best novel of the quarter century

[Ghetta Life]

I've only made it through M&D once, about six years ago.  And, although it 
doesn't measure up to GR, it is by no means a turd.  That really is just 
hyperbole and unspecific.

It is maybe overly long and maybe lacking in unifying structure (beyond P's 
ever-present memes).  But it is still often beautifully written and often 
funny.
