What he said. No need to dive into a discussion of
ATD. If annotation is your desire - as contributor or
consumer - http://pynchonwiki.com is the place to be.
I'm sure we'll see lots of that here at Pynchon-l,
too, and if it's tagged with page numbers and spoiler
warnings, that will help.
For the record, to counter some extremely unfair and
false assertions, I do believe that Pynchon's novels
have both strengths and weaknesses that deserve to be
explored, and I think a discussion of any or all of
them should be supported with close reading of the
texts, and to assert otherwise is simply untrue - it's
a braindead insult that's been repeated here ad
nauseum, never with any evidence, just the kind blunt
instrument clubbing demonstrated here earlier today.
That I remain a contributor, however modest and minor
my contribution, to Pynchon Notes demonstrates my
support of this general project, to more deeply
understand Pynchon's works within a serious
critical-theoretical framework, and to help create and
sustain a supportive community within which his works
can be read and discussed.
A lively discussion is part of such a community,
obviously, and we do have that here, in spades.
