One of my favorites is their first recording together,
Filles de Kilamanjaro. Half of the record is Miles'
previous band (the "Second Great Quintet, with Wayne
Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony
Williams), and half has Dave Holland instead of Ron,
and Chick instead of Herbie. It's a great
"transition" record (my favorite kind!) between the
harmonic abstraction of the Quartet, and the rock
based stuff he was about to dive headlong into.

The one right after that, A Silent Way, is incredible
too (if I made top 10 lists, this would more than
likely be on it), though it's hard to determine which
of the 3 keyboard players is Chick.

Or, of course, Bitches Brew. Or, definitely Jack
Johnson.
