The Bush faction is going down despite. God I'm sick
of listening to this guy and his thugs, and I pray
that my son gets past draftable age before they, and
the war-mongers who come after them (of whatever Party
stripe) have a chance to expand the war in Iraq or
launch a new one somewhere else.

Will be interesting to see if Pynchon works W into ATD
the way he put Nixon in GR. Given the hints that P has
given in recent years - in the PJ interview, 1984
Intro, his highly political blurb for the Einstein
book last year -  I doubt that his rage at the
criminally insane who have governed this country for
so long is much less savage now than it was when he
was working on his early novels, although his
expression may have mellowed some, and many positive
elements (the wonderful friendship between round/flat
Mason and round/flat Dixon, for example) have emerged.
