Hey, I don't wanna argue, but that is 5 day old baloney.........

I guess some find scenes of that nature, breaking one of *the* taboos of 
human civilisation, more upsetting and disturbuing than depictions of war. 
Yes, there is (maybe) an allegorical/symbolic dimension, but what I am 
saying is 'even so, why does Pynchon seem to keep exhibiting an interest in 
this subject'. Sure, maybe he is just using it as a way of illustrating the 
theme of a world gone wrong, but personally I'd rather he wouldn't!

No need to be aggresive.
