Thanks a lot for that story. I really enjoyed that. One of my biggest
sorrows has always been that I wasn't around - at least as a reader - back
in 1973 to get a copy of GR hot off the press. It really must have been
something to've read V. and Lot 49, waited impatiently for seven years, and
then be hit over the head with that orange monster.
Waiting impatiently for AtD is of course also great fun, and I certainly
expect no end of pleasure from that novel, but the world will probably not
be a different place by the time I've reached page 1085, as it was for you
and your brother when you looked up from page 760 of GR (and as it was for
me in 1994, when I first looked up from the same page).
