First ATD hatchet job

I didn't accuse him of being a right-winger, although if I had to bet on 
it...... what I did say was that I, in my opinion, reckoned the reviewer 
might not have cared for Pynchon's leftist political views.

And setting up a straw man argument - that Pynchon's previosu books lead his 
readers to expact that, some sunny day, all would be revealed - is such an 
obvious, cheap trick. Even if you agreed that such a silly expectation 
existed, and also agreed that ATD had failed to provide 'the answer' to all 
the mysteries of V. and Gravity's Rainbow, would it not be teh case that 
Pynchon still might, some even sunnier day, produce such a work?

Adding insult to injury is to complain about a lack of complexity (!), and 
criticise, on 'syntax' grounds, one of the most masterful artists of poetic 
prose in the language.

I could go on.......................
