Lists have no syntax: agreed.
Pynchon as a list-maker, well that's a lame and not very fair categorisation
on his part. Pynchon does have lists but not as consistently and as
extensively as, let's say, in Rabelais' case, or, to give a more modern
example, in Peter Greenaway's case (both in cinema and in prose).
