And now that we're making a list of lists, one might as well include that 
wonderful list of the guests at Gatsby's parties. In fact, there's a book by 
Patti White called "Gatsby's Party: The System and the List in Contemporary 
Narrative". Among others, White deals with Pynchon as well.
