Conspiracy theoy seems alive and well. Has anyone seen that long and garbled video circulating the internet (think it's called Loose Change) charging that 9/11 was staged by the US government? I've run into lots of people who seriously believe this. And many people around the globe believe that HIV was created/spread by the US government. These seem to be sort of paranoid echos bouncing off the very real and overt excesses of US power.
