Superb landscapes full of horrible glory

I sent an email to the address given in the SF
Chronicle story, heard back from Hirschman (he's in
Italy right now), and ordered a copy of the book.  He
said he'll mail it at the end of the month when he
comes back to the Bay Area. 

I'll report back if it's any good.
