I'll tell you, though -- everything you need to know about Washington
DC is on the cover of the Book Review section. The cover profiles
FOUR book reviews out today: a book about presidents by James
MacGregor Burns, a detective novel by Michael Connelly, a book about
Algeria, and a review by Tom Perotta of a Harry Shearer comic novel.
That is to say, a review of the new Pynchon novel is -- at best --
the fifth biggest attraction in the book section of the esteemed
Washington Post, the only real paper in the nation's capital.
This is why our country is screwed.
