fair enough but some stories can only be told by thunderbolts, dogs, ducks,
meteors, etc....
doesn't make the stories any less profound than the wiles and despairs of
the frank bascombe's of the world. Ford actually was asked by the wall
street journal whether he or pynchon would be read 100 yrs hence. he rightly
said he hoped both would be
