"It was occasionally trying. It demands your full attention. It can’t be
read at a crowded café, or with a child on one’s lap."

Such silly things readers write in book reviews.

I suspect that many a guilty reader,
of such large,
loosening upon my worlds,
a gaggy green monster baby
upchucking starbuck's chocolate covered pretzels
on everything and everyone but the book,
Not on the book!
will discover,
months hence,
the divorce papers,
bills,
more bills,
grocery lists,
lists upon lists,
upon character charts,
under books piled higher than the children and adults
who gave up trying
to get through them to the reader,
the person,
they once knew before he/she got into the book.

su jestion: take your time
time is infinite.
but kids grow too large
for laps.
too tired of taking naps while readers read.

I can read a book on the cross bronx expressway while listening to
hip-hop. I can hop and skip over kids scattered toys,
over all my girls and all my boyz, while I read, but why should I?
