I've' just finished reading Les Bienveillantes and I utterly disliked the
hero in the final section although up to that point I tended to like him
too.

The book was well worth reading and the final section, in the chaos of the
German Reich in the spring of 1945, has familiar overtones for a Pvnchon
reader.
