Coincidences or conspiracy?

Yesterday I attended an "adoption party" for a former student of mine  
-- a young woman who was in foster care for eleven years and was  
finally legally adopted by her foster parents.  A great, heart- 
tugging story.  The foster/now-legal dad is named Steve Smith.

And who is at the party but a green-mohawked young guy with a dragon  
tattoo on the side of his head.  That is, cousin Zak.

He seemed like a nice guy, punked out utterly, of course, and -- yup  
-- excited about reading AtD.
