I like this analysis.  , I like Vineland, too, no
problem with its focus on the 60s, I find it a nuanced
reassessment of the era and its foibles - with some
positive stuff, too, that might be even more obvious
in a post 9-11 America - that works just fine for me. 
Pynchon's humor and dazzling prose makes up for the
sometimes off-putting navel-gazing intrinsic to the
60s-reassessment genre, imo.
