Monroe, you better not be joking about _Freddie Got Fingered_. And if you
actually like it I will be *shocked*. I have like three friends
that appreciate it, and with me, that makes four people I know who don't
hate it. I think it is one of the most underrated movies of recent history,
I'm serious. The gorgeous helicopter shot w/ "When a Man Loves a Woman"
blaring? The indictment of success/wealth accumulation? The unrelenting
narrative un-linearity? The absolute disdain for practically every single
romantic- or comedic-movie convention? Freddie Got FIngered is big-budget
avant-garde cinema at its apex.

I think it was A.O. Scott from the NYTimes who called it "Brilliant," and he
may be the only enlightened reviewer out there. And so compare that
critical response to the universal praise given for Darko and Mag.

Are you for real?
Dan
