Seriously, think about it: you've got to gulp this mo-fo down by deadline, and, like, you're really not into mayonnaise, so you just can't get past that scene at the factory, ya dig? I can see all sorts of folks---book reviewers included--- reaching certain passages and wonder how the hell they landed there.
