Rosenbaum on AtD?

I saw Rosenbaum speak about Shakespeare and his new book last month, and
spoke to him briefly afterwards. I asked him whether he would return to
Pynchon now that the Shakespeare book was done and AtD was coming out. He
seemed strangely underwhelmed by the prospect. I don't remember his exact
words, but the gist was that he would like to go back and do more with The
Crying of Lot 49, but implied was that he did not particularly want to spend
time with any of TRP's subsequent books.
His Observer column in one of the following weeks talked about having a flu
that sapped his motivation and left him listless, so maybe I caught him in
the throes of it. But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to write
about it, alas.

Don't forget what a great exegetical Pynchon-reader Ron Rosenbaum is. Keep
an eye out for his next New York Observer column (appearing every other
Wednesday); it may turn up something of more-than-passing Pynchonian
interest.
