I consider "The Player" to be one of the best movie movies. Nashville is wonderful, and, yes "Ready-to-Wear" a blast that made me want to get an invite to a major fashion show. Gosford Park is a real looker, with one of the sweetest scenes I've seen in a film (the tableaux during the entertainment at the piano), but I agree... McCabe has it all.

Popeye...

Prairie Home Companion was sweet, if not really all that much. My favorites are McCabe & Mrs. Miller---best seen baked in a '70's revival house, and (even more baked) "Brewester McCloud", with a turn by Margaret Hamilton that belongs in GR, "Death From slightly Above" and teenaged dreams of flight.
