re-read atd

I can see how some might view it as VL-plus. Not me. I think it
might supplant V as my second favorite, but it's been awhile since
I've re-read V.
I am having a blast with it as well - so far it hasn't been as
mind-bendingly, sometimes soul-crushingly as powerful as GR. But it's
a solid goddamn book so far - around 240 pages in now so I guess it's
pretty damn early to be making a call like that. But I have a
holidy-smelling candle burning, 3/4 of the way through my personal
bottle of good pinot noir, smokin' my (tobacco) pipe without the lady
bothering me, and dang. I really don't think I'd be as at peace if it
was M&D or Vineland that had just been released. Last Thanksgiving it
was re-reading The Recognitions that got me in this mood, this year I
think I'm having just as good of a holiday.
I would definitely be down for a GR re-read at some point in the near
future, but I need to give M&D another stab after finishing AtD
methinks.
