Well, there *is* a lot in Vineland about "what happened to the ideals and
'revolutions' of the 1960s, how did we get from that era of flawed idealism
to the proto-fascist Reagainite 1980s?" Just beacuse there's a lot of other
stuff in there too doesn't mean anyone who discusses the 60s/80s/ political
stuff is 'missing the point'. Anyone who denies that it's a part of Vineland
would be though.
Who has claimed that Vineland is solely a what-happened-to-the-hippies novel
? Not me guv'nor.
