Sounds like this reader has formed some definite
opinions of the novel already.  If the negative
reviewers have got it right, show why and how, with
examples from the novel -  I'd be interested in an
argument supported by a close reading of the text.

and everybody can be happy.

Meanwhile, Pynchon spent a few years writing it, I'm
