After Tunguska, after a great many silly songs, after a museum of
mathematics built upon a tesseract, and not too long at all after some
strange sexual practices (or is "weird", with its fatidic
connotations, a better word?), we have a title.

And ooh boy, is the paragraph which it caps a good one.

PS.  Reading up to this point, I've discovered a couple more
typographical errors:  a missing quotation mark and a "that" which I'm
almost sure should be a "than".  Foolishly, I didn't make note of
their exact locations.  Which is the more thankless job, to be
Pynchon's editor or his copy editor?
