schön in einem Roman, wenn ein Schriftsteller sein Gesicht nicht
zeigt, wird er zur irdischen Manifestation der Weigerung Gottes, in
Erscheinung zu treten. Und genau das ist mit Salinger und Thomas
Pynchon passiert. Das ist eigentlich das, was wir vom Dichterpriester
möchten, das ist die unausgesprochene Erwartung vieler Leser, dass der
Dichter, im emphatischen Sinne, näher an der Transzendenzquelle, näher
an Gott, ist."
