AtD (spoilers) Tautologies

[Ya Sam]

I am a bit irritated by the tautological constructions in AtD, the first 
being in the blurb itself "strange occurrences occur''. Just two examples 
(but there are more)

p. 198 'He sought Sloat's eyes with his one undamaged one'

or p. At the Casino, back in the back rooms...

I find it a tad jarring.
