AtD (spoilers) Tautologies

I just want to say this again: the book changes narration style. read the
CoC sections like you are reading the hardy boys, read the Reef and Frank
western sections like you are sitting around the campfire listening to
cowboy poets,

I'm not sure about the other tones of voice for, say yale or europe, but
they are there. these are the refracted novels on the cover- there are
several of them.

phrases like "Reef found himself______ and reef found himself ______, is
all." is totally out of a cowboy tale.

"Here our adventures will find the secret to it all..." is tottally a boys
adventure novel.

I've been reading this book outloud to myself and I've been loving every
turn of phrase. At first I found them strange too, but add a western twang
to your voice and hell yeah it's a good one.

around page 200, the style shifts to a western tale, the accents change
and the nerrator develops a frontier colarado accents. the repeating
phrases are indicative of an Oral Tradition.

After page 200 I have a very unpleasant feeling that the editing was done in
a hurry, (maybe in order to present the book for the National Book Award in
time, don't know) therefore some stylistic lapses are a letdown, (e.g. p.
213 'Reef found himself' two times in the same paragraph, not to mention all
the 'is alls') especially alongside some awesome passages of comsic beauty.
