Why don't women read Pynchon?

Research conducted in my own household has led me to the conclusion that men
don't read Pynchon. I'm a fan, my husband is not. How about that.

This is the third article I've read recently on this topic, and none of the
evidence is terribly convincing. It just seems to be In The Air. They might
as well be writing/blogging about why men don't read Jane Austen (they do!).
