What do you know about folk tales and major criticism of them. It seems
always to dip to low into a pyschoanalys of minute symbols. Bettleheim, for
instance, well, he does that a lot. The slipper is not a slipper but the
hymen, the foot bleeding into it. The first two sisters with blood feet are
the unsucessfull attempts of sexual intercourse. But who places, finally,
the foot into the slipper? It's not the princes foot. It's Cinderellas! Are
we then to assume masturbation, autosexual pleasure? Don't worry, there's
some Pynchon connection lurking the next street over.
